Contemporary egg tempera panel painting

Michael Dillmann is a painter who lives and works in Thanning, south of Munich. His work combines representational and photorealistic subjects with freely painted elements. He works primarily in egg tempera on wood panels. The foyer presents current exhibitions, recent paintings, galleries and articles from the studio.

I am searching for a form of figurative painting in which paint and brush can move freely, energetically and naturally despite the representational subject, without becoming paralysed by reverence for the realistic motif. When light sweeps across the things of this world, painting reality should possess a similar lightness and flow—much like cycling requires a certain minimum speed to keep from falling over.

Exhibitions

The next exhibition has not yet been scheduled. In the meantime, visitors are always welcome at my studio by appointment.

New Paintings

Each motif captures a moment or situation in which viewers can immerse themselves, pause and feel at ease. The paintings convey warmth, calm and strength—qualities that can enrich a space and accompany their owners for a lifetime.
